IMDb tells me he directed but seven and wrote but four movies. I have no idea who William Bindley is or ever was. But she is let down by the indifferent script nor is the direction anything special, for that matter. She is a pretty woman and a fine actress.
The movie is mostly a one-woman show and Bonnie Bedelia makes it worth 95 minutes of your time (if you’re a curious movie buff, that is).
He is neither mysterious enough in the beginning nor menacing enough in the end no wonder he’s been forgotten.
Billy Wirth has more screen time, but leaves no impression whatsoever. Will Patton, one of the greatest character actors alive, is wasted in a minor role unworthy of his tremendous talent. The cast doesn’t seem too enthusiastic and one can hardly blame them. The former is easy to guess well before the end and the latter is not especially dramatic. The second half, however, is a tedious combination of murder mystery and courtroom drama. Briefly, a successful judge (Bedelia) neglected by her slightly unhinged husband (Patton) hooks up with a mysterious guy from the library (Wirth). The first half is rather a fine thriller with erotic overtones nothing terribly original, but effective enough and with some steamy sex scenes.
This is one justly forgotten movie two movies, in fact.
